Samone has a bachelor’s degree in Drama and an MS Degree in Leadership and Ethics. She has a Doctorate in Education. Her professional experience includes Dramatic Arts and Theatre. Samone teaches Fundamentals of Theatre through Liberty County High School’s Gifted Program, which is a mentorship/internship. Samone is a board member of the Hinesville Area Arts Council. She provides guidance and leadership in Fine Visual Arts and Community Theatre Programs. Her targeted audience is all ages and reaches a population of 61k with a 32% growth rate due to the Military Presence at Fort Stewart. Samone has been teaching since 2005 in theatre and fine arts. Ages 12 to adult are included in the community being taught. Samone’s teaching philosophy is to provide a hands-on practical approach to the theatre to embody the resemblance of theater to real life. Currently, Samone teaches Fundamentals of Theatre through Liberty County High School’s Gifted Program, which is a mentorship/internship. Samone also is a board member of the Hinesville Area Arts Council, where she provides guidance and leadership in Fine Visual Arts and Community Theatre Programs. Samone also Produced and Directed the following: Crimes of the Heart, Steel Magnolias, Barefoot in the Park, Plaza Suite, My Fair Lady, The Wizard of Oz, Taming of the Shrew, Something About Earnest, Scrooge and many more. Samone’s approach to theatrical arts is to provide the community with educational opportunities to participate and perform community theatre as a means to engage the community in performing arts. She is an artist and has additional arts backgrounds in Fine Art Mediums, Painting, and Drawing. 

Teaching Experience:   

Samone has been teaching since 2005 in theatre, production, and business. Ages 12 to adult are included in the community being taught. She has also been teaching business since 2005 in Higher Education. Samone’s teaching philosophy is to provide a hands-on practical approach to the theatre to embody the resemblance of theater to real life. Fundamentals of Theatre

Levels Served – 7-12 & Adults

Fee Structure -$50 per student
Program Length – 8 Weeks
Facility Requirements – Meeting space, Tables & Chairs, and Performance Space Course Purpose –enhance understanding of theatre by producing specific theatre styles in-depth with performance opportunities.
Course Learning Objectives

  • Recognize and interpret artistic choices in performance
  • Assess the need for script analysis, concept development, and directorial and technical concerns of a theatrical script.
  • Create and perform play for audiences
  • Identify and apply the various aspects of directing, staging, performance spaces, and rehearsal management.
  • Examine how theatre reflects real life.

Abbreviated Sample Lesson Plan – For Community Theatre One Act 

  • Week One –Select One Act Play, considering the audience, time of year, performance location, cast availability, and resources.
  • Week Two –Analyze script, block script (performance space dependent), and prepare and post audition flyers.
  • Week Three –Audition and Cast the Play–confirm performance dates and location.
  • Week Four –Begin Rehearsals, establish crew members, determine needs for sets, props, costumes, etc.
  • Week Five –Continue Rehearsals –begin set builds, costume, and prop acquisition.
  • Week Six –Continue Rehearsals–design, print, and post flyers and posters. Create social media posts, etc. Begin ticket sales.
  • Week Seven –Technical Week –Rehearsal intensifies as the technical staff is brought on. Two dress rehearsals at the end of the technical week.
  • Week Eight –Perform three shows, including one matinée.
