Augusta Mini Theatre - Augusta

The journey of Jalen Frasher.

He was born and raised in inner city Augusta, Georgia by his mother.

She enrolled him in the Mini Theatre when he was in 3rd grade and stayed through 12th and received and is presently receiving our college book scholarship.

When he enrolled in the Mini Theatre, Jalen had a speech impediment, poor grammar, low self- esteem and had been bullied.

With the help of our drama classes and stage performances, and life skills workshops and his mother’s support and push, Jalen turned his life around. He is now a junior English major and drama minor at Georgia College and State University (Milledgeville, GA).

In 2016 and 2017, he landed leading acting roles in the college’s plays- “Stick Fly” and “Detroit 67”.

He was nominated for and participated in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (2016/17) and selected for two reader’s Theatre presentations.
