The Folk Society Band was performing at an Alzeimer’s Care Facility and there was a woman who was very sick.  She looked for all the world like she was sleeping in her seat. We started playing and her eyes opened and she started looking at us.  Then I sang, ‘Have I told You Lately That I Love You”, and old song by Gene Autry, and her eyes opened wide. She stared right at me and sang every word of that song with me.  At the end of the song, she closed her eyes again. This made a huge impression on me and really demonstrated the power of music to reach people.
