I have been performing professionally for over 35 years. Beyond my many years of music performance training, I have trained in dance and acting. In addition, I have studied Songwriting with Berklee College of Music Online, am a member of the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME), Women in Music and ASCAP. I have been a licensed Kindermusik professional and a Young Audiences Fellow. My experience is in piano, voice, and drama with preschool – adult audiences. I perform Pop, Gospel, Soul, Jazz, and Spoken Word. A highlight of my career is having had the honor of performing and teaching in Japan. My philosophy as an artist is that talent is a responsibility to uplift and inspire. I do this by creating fun, relevant, and engaging learning experiences.

Program I

  • Artist fees – $750/day

Program II

  • Artist fees – $750/day up to 4 classes per day. (Max students for each class – 50)

Program III

  • Artist fees – $500/day up to 4 classes per day (Max students for each class– 50)

Artistic Profile:    

I have been performing professionally for over 35 years. 13 years of private piano instruction, singing in choirs nationwide, and graduating from the Academic and Performing Arts Complex as a high school student are just a few of the educational experiences that have shaped me as a performer. Beyond music performance training, I have trained in complementary arts disciplines as well, such as dance and acting. In addition, I have studied Songwriting with Berklee College of Music Online am a member of the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME) and ASCAP. I continuously hone my skills by attending conferences related to the arts.

My experience is in music, piano, voice, and drama with preschool – adult audiences. I perform Pop, Gospel, Soul, Jazz, and Spoken Word. I have enjoyed the opportunity to perform throughout the United States and have had the honor of performing and teaching in Japan. My philosophy as an artist is that talent is a responsibility to uplift, inspire, and enlighten. I do this by creating fun, relevant, and engaging entertainment experiences.

Teaching Experience:

As a former member of the Music National Teachers Association, I have attended numerous workshops for music educators. One of the highlights of my career is having had the joy of teaching a series of Black Gospel Music vocal workshops in Japan in 2009.

I continuously hone my skills by attending conferences such as the Arts Schools Network conference, Jazz

Education Network and others related to the arts. My experience is in general music, piano, voice, and drama with preschool – adult audiences. My philosophy as a teacher is that it is my job to study the student to learn how to illuminate their unique gifts and talents best.

Black Music Is 
Primary Art Form: Music

Grade Levels Served: Adaptable for K-12; community Number of students served: Max 150 students Program Length: 45 minutes
Program Content Description: Trace the history of Africans in the United States through their music: Spirituals, Blues, Gospel, Jazz, and opera. Audience participation is required for portions of the program.
Facility and Technical Requirements: Piano or outlet for a digital piano. The sound system that we can plug digital piano into is preferred but not required.

Music Beyond The Playlist

Grade Levels: 6-12
Number of Students served: 50 students max per session. Up to 4 sessions per day
Program Length: 60 minutes
Program Content Description: When it comes to music-making, we tend to focus on the people out front- the artists, the DJs, those who are visible, but did you know there are tons of people making music magic behind the scenes? This session begins with students playing an interactive, fast-paced game that will have them thinking about music beyond the playlist and how it can be a vital part of their future as leaders and innovators.
Students will then delve deeper into various careers that involve music and how music is used to solve real-world problems.

Singing For Auditions
Primary Art Form: Music
Core Content/Curriculum areas: Music, Language Arts
Grade Levels: 6-12
Number of students served: Max 25 per class. Up to 4 classes per day
Program Length: 60 minutes
Program Content Description: Are your performing arts students ready for every type of audition that comes their way?
Singing is a special skill that can help make every performer more bookable by opening the performer up to being able to play more roles.
In this 90-minute workshop students will:

  • Explore their singing voices so they can be more confident in this type of audition.
  • Learn how to relax instead of freaking out when someone asks him/her to sing.
  • Learn how to choose go-to audition songs so that they are always ready when a breakdown asks for singing and when a casting director asks him/her to sing unexpectedly.
  • Gain valuable insights into what casting is looking for when it comes to singing for actors.
  • Discover how to use their power as an actor to own the room even if he/she doesn’t consider himself/herself a singer.
