“Inspired Georgia: 28 Works from Georgia’s State Art Collection”
Nine Georgia communities have been selected to host the state's first traveling art exhibit. Featuring twenty-eight pieces from Georgia’s state art collection, the exhibit is sponsored by GCA in partnership with GHC and the Tourism Division. The work will be on tour for 14 months.
The new exhibit, “Inspired Georgia: 28 Works from Georgia’s State Art Collection” is the first of its kind in decades, and highlights the diversity of styles, media and techniques in the collection. The exhibit will travel to: Gainesville, Monroe, Toccoa, Summerville, Tallapoosa, Jonesboro, Dublin, Tifton and Kingsland. Read the full press release here.
The Office of the Governor and Georgia Council for the Arts announce a call for entries for "The Art of Georgia: Celebrating Georgia's Landscapes and People," an exhibit that will showcase current work of contemporary artists and hang in the executive offices of the State Capitol. The next deadline for submissions from artists who live in Northwest Georgia is June 6, 2014.
ArtCroft Creative Residency Program. Residencies are available to established and emerging visual and literary artists 18 years of age and older without regard for race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion. The program is designed for single individuals who are not accompanied by families or pets. Deadline: Ongoing
University Avenue Corridor Public Art Project WonderRoot invites visual artists to submit qualifications to develop a site integrated, semi-permanent public art project to be located along the linear corridor on the Annie E. Casey Foundation property at the intersection of McDaniel Street and University Avenue in southwest Atlanta. This call includes a Lead Artist Request for Qualifications and a Supporting Artist Request for Qualifications. Lead Artists must be professional artists. Supporting Artists may be professional, student, or emerging artists. All artists must reside in the metropolitan Atlanta area. RFQ Application Deadline: March 3, 2014
Performing Arts Exchange (PAE) PAE will be held in Atlanta Sept 29 – October 2, 2014. Showcases at the Performing Arts Exchange provide presenters an opportunity to sample high quality artistic performances that will attract and engage their audiences. PAE 2014 will host performances of up to 16 artist showcases, chosen from a panel of experts. Applications are now being accepted for Juried Showcases (15 minute performances). Deadline: March 21
