FY2013 Grant Awards Announced

ATLANTA  - Georgia Council for the Arts has awarded grant funding for fiscal year 2013 to approximately 150 nonprofit arts organizations throughout the state. Just under $800,000 in funding will be distributed for operating support or arts projects. Eleven organizations in the state also received additional support for exceptional arts education programs.

Funds awarded by Georgia Council for the Arts include appropriations from the Georgia General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.

"This year's grantees represent organizations that are creating outstanding programming and services,” said GCA director Karen Paty.  “The high quality work done by these organizations has a meaningful economic and community impact at both a state and local level.  We are pleased to be able to support this work and through partnerships we anticipate being able to provide additional services and resources in the future."

Among such partnerships is the continuation of the Tourism Product Development (TPD) Grant, a joint venture between Georgia Council for the Arts and Tourism Division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. The TPD Grant supports the role of the arts in tourism with an emphasis on professional Georgia artists and the non-profit arts industry. Guidelines will be issued later this summer. Additionally, as a result of the strategic planning process, the FY2014 grant program will be restructured to provide broader access to GCA grants.
