About the 2013 Governor's Awards

Each 2013 recipient of the Governor's Award for the Arts & Humanities received an original photograph by renowned Georgia photographer, Diane Kirkland.  Diane’s evocative landscapes of Georgia have received numerous awards and are in the permanent collections of such prestigious institutions as the Georgia Museum of Art.  Her work has appeared in both national and international publications.  The fifteen powerful images of Georgia that she has created for us this year are as unique as each of the award recipiesnts.   We are honored to have this incredible artist dedicate her time and talent so generously to the 2013 Governor's Awards for the Arts & Humanities.
